Capellagårdens kokbok presents recipes for the stomach and for life; a beautiful volume about food that tells about much more than just the contents of the recipes.
Capellagården in Vickleby on Öland is a magical place, a legendary school for arts and crafts and gardening knowledge. During the spring and summer, the many houses are nestled in the greenery of the large deciduous trees and the rich crops. Young people from all over the world are drawn here and study ceramics, textiles, carpentry and farming. They live, live and work with teachers, artists, craftspeople and gardeners. Since the school was founded in 1958, thousands of people have been educated here and with them in their baggage they have since had a holistic view of life. Capellagården's cookbook depicts this whole, and it is no coincidence that the book was written, photographed and designed by people who themselves find themselves in this unique environment. Organic farming is done here on an impressive scale. Vegetables, salad, root vegetables, herbs and fruit are preferably served in the own kitchen and prepared by skilled chefs. Every day, popular dishes are prepared and baked for everyone at the school, even for hungry guests. The book presents a rich and tasty range of recipes, from the chefs' favorites to the visiting artisans. Capellagården's cookbook is as enticing as it is beautiful to be inspired by.
In the book, the reader meets prominent teachers/artisans at Capellagården who talk about their work and their relationship with the school, and they also present some of their own favorite recipes, such as Kennet Williamsson, famous potter, the dishes seasonally. Stina Lundén is responsible for the text. Linda Zetterman and Johan Ekelund stand for idea and form. The school's principal Bodil Anjar has written the foreword.
