Nikon 8x30 E II is one of those binoculars that make people sigh, when talking about it or simply holding it. It is so small and compact – and still it delivers such an impressively bright image with one of the markets very widest field of view. As it is made with a porro-prism construction, the eyes receive a bigger three-dimensional experience than with the usual, straight roof-prism binoculars of today.
The chassis is made in a magnesium alloy, and the lenses are made from ecologic glass, free from lead or arsenics. The eyecups as well, are of the more traditional format, with foldable rubber which is great if you prefer to use your binoculars with glasses. The model however lacks protection against water – it stands rain, but not much, and not for long. If you seek a classic and also small porro-prism binocular with quality optics – this here, is the absolute best option there is.
