More and more bird watchers walk around with both binoculars and a system camera with a heavy telephoto lens. The Peak Design Slide makes it possible to "pull the camera from the hip".
The Peak Design Slide camera strap is a high-quality strap made from the same material as seat belts. With two quick buckles, the length can be easily adjusted from a maximum of 149 cm to a minimum length of 101 cm. At the ends, there are smart quick fasteners where the supplied super-strong "Anchor Links" are attached. The straps (loops) in these can withstand a load of at least 90 kilograms, even though they are only a couple of millimeters thin. This makes mounting on your equipment very smooth and space-saving. Included also makes a small platform equipped with 1/4'' camera screw and loops to attach the Anchor Links loops to. It then acts as a connecting link between the strap and your equipment, if you want to attach both loops in the same place, or have a attachment point under the camera body/lens and the other on another point. You can also buy extra loops and a larger, Manfrotto RC2- and ArchaSwiss-compatible plate, see linked articles next to this. Although the strap is optimized for system photo equipment, there is nothing to prevent you from also using the Peak Design as a multi-strap for your camera, your telephoto lens and your binoculars. The strap can be worn diagonally over one shoulder down on the opposite hip, traditionally on one shoulder down the side (thanks to woven silicone elements for anti-slip) and over the neck. In the former case, the strap should be turned so that the anti-slip is facing outwards, for quick "pulling from the hip".
