Zeiss Conquest Gavia with 85 millimeter lens and a zoom eyepiece with a range of 30-60 times magnification.
It is intended to attract everyone who is looking for a really good tube, but thinks that the big flagships have sailed away a bit high in price in recent years. Fully rubberized chassis in lightweight magnesium, waist focusing and a very compact prism housing characterize the exterior. Retractable lens hood with coarse viewing notch and a tripod foot that is shaped to fit directly into Manfrotto's classic head 128 RC without the need for a quick release plate are additional attributes. Of course, the tube foot is tiltable with a locking lever on the side. The optics consist of a fluorite-containing HD glass element in the lens and are characterized by Zeiss' world-famous T* coating and therefore provide a clear image with neutral color reproduction and high contrast. The eyepiece is newly developed specifically for this tube and delivers a decent field of view through the entire register, although not of a purely wide-angle character. The eyecup has intermediate positions for optimal adaptation with or without glasses and a locking ring secures the eyepiece's bayonet mount. Supplied with a plastic lens cover and a simpler rubber eyepiece cover. Please note that earlier Zeiss eyepieces will not fit this tube. The bayonet mount is unique to this tube.
