With 6 years warranty as well as providing exciting and thoughtful details, SIRUI is a brilliant alternative to the more established brands on the market. The VH-15 is the biggest one in the range, and thus stands the biggest load - 10 kg! - of all SIRUI’s video heads.
The fluid VH-15 video head holds very high quality. The most important thing is that it is made in forged metal instead of cast parts. The rubberized arm is flexible and extendable, and of course you can also choose whether you want it on the right or left side of the video head. The panning is made to give a smooth and friction free viewing, and can also be locked in one position. Equipped with two liquid spirit levels to see if the equipment is placed horizontally.
The VH-15 has a powerful built-in spring-loaded counterbalance that works good with all spotting scopes (except maybe the Swarovski BTX.. ) on the market. The function prevents the front or back of the scope from sudden, uncontrolled movements – like tipping and hitting the side of the tripod. Offers a 9 cm quick-release plate and comes with both a 1/4 and 3/8 inch screw, which means that owners of certain scopes (such as Kamakura, Opticron and the old Swarovski Habicht AT 80) can lock their scope with both screws, something that is highly effective to avoid rotation. One last advantage is that the quick-release plate can be mounted from both sides and offers a safety lock system to reduce all imaginable accidents.
