The Närkes Fågelvärld book publication reports the results of the two extensive inventories that over 100 enumerators have carried out during two periods: 1974-1984 and 2005-2015.
Every corner of Närke has been searched for nesting bird species; the inventors have put in a total of nearly 10,000 hours in the field. The book contains facts about all the 178 species that breed in the landscape. Each species is presented on that spread with nice pictures in nesting environments, nice clear graphics showing where the species are found, and simple tables showing the changes for the bird species. Närke's Bird World contains 433 pictures of birds in our landscape, most taken by talented local photographers. The 400-page book also contains chapters on the history of ornithology in Närke, on the field watcher's father Erik Rosenberg and on changes in the landscape.
